Our Philosophy

At The Children's Table, we gather together to learn, create, and grow. Inspired by Waldorf education, our preschool embraces the beauty of childhood through nature-based learning, imaginative play, seasonal rhythms, and hands-on experiences.

Community is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every child and family is welcomed, celebrated, and supported. Through shared experiences, cooperative play, and meaningful relationships, children develop confidence, compassion, and a strong sense of belonging.

Our program follows the Wondergarten curriculum, blending the warmth and wonder of a Waldorf-inspired approach with thoughtfully planned educational experiences. Through engaging activities, rich storytelling, seasonal themes, and hands-on exploration, children build early literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills while preserving the joy and magic of childhood.

Children spend their days creating, discovering, and contributing. They will have opportunities to bake bread, prepare simple foods, help tend gardens, create artwork, paint, draw, build, sing, and explore the natural world. We believe children learn best through meaningful experiences that engage both their minds and their hands.

Nutrition is an important part of our philosophy. All meals and snacks served while children are in our care are included and prepared with an emphasis on wholesome, organic ingredients whenever possible. Food is thoughtfully prepared using cast iron, stainless steel, glass, and other durable materials, while avoiding plastic cookware and non-stick coatings.

We are intentionally screen-free, creating space for imagination, creativity, conversation, and connection. Rather than relying on electronic entertainment, children engage with open-ended, high-quality toys and materials chosen for their beauty, durability, and ability to inspire imaginative play. Natural materials such as wood, wool, cotton, silk, and metal are thoughtfully incorporated throughout the environment whenever possible.

At The Children's Table, we believe childhood should be filled with wonder, meaningful work, strong relationships, and opportunities to connect with both nature and community. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment where children can develop confidence, curiosity, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
